Trail DIVISION

The Hollywood Hill Saddle Club is fortunate to be connected to the Gold Creek Park trail system, which can lead to the Woodinville Pipeline Trail and the Burke-Gilman Trail. The public trails are maintained by King County Parks. This is a quiet, equestrian-friendly neighborhood system that is still relatively unknown. It is possible to do several loops in the park and have it all to yourself. Expect lots of hill-climbing and descending, switchbacks, and steep ridges nestled in thick Washington greenery. There is the occasional mud spot in the spring.

Open: open to horse access year-round during daylight hours

Parking Pass/Entry Fee: None
Length: 3+ miles, steep slopes
Surface: dirt, mud, occasional rocks, bridges
Shared with: horses, hikers, dogs, occasional bikes

Directions to the Trailhead

From Seattle, take I-5 north then take WA-520 E. Use the right 2 lanes to take exit 168B for WA-520 toward Bellevue/Kirkland. Continue on WA-520 E for 6.4 miles. Then use the right 2 lanes to take the Interstate 405 N exit toward Everett, stay on 405 N for 4.6 miles then take exit 20B for NE 124th St/Totem Lake Boulevard. Turn right onto NE 124th St and continue for 2.3 miles then turn left onto WA-202 W/Redmond-Woodinville Rd NE. From Redmond, head north on Woodinville-Redmond Road. Where Woodinville-Redmond Road goes left to cross the valley floor, veer right onto 148th Ave NE. You will pass the official park entrance to the Boys & Girls Club lodge; continue up the hill and around to the right where the road becomes 172nd. Keep to the right to stay on 172nd and Hollywood Hills Saddle Club will be on the right, past the elementary school. From the front parking area, go in through the gap in the fence and locate the trail near the southeast corner of the property that goes straight south between houses and backyards for about half a mile until it reaches the park itself. Side trails lead to Gold Creek Equestrian Center and other neighborhood residences.
