English Western DIVISION

Event Details

The English/Western Division offers a range of classes from the very beginner to the experienced show person in a relaxed and friendly environment. Our shows are always on the second Saturday of the months of May, June, July, and August. We offer a sand round pen, sand warm up arena, sand large main arena, and trail course. Trail obstacles include a bridge, gate, mailbox, teeter totter, tire step up, balance beam, surrounding trees, and the ability to make courses of varying degrees of difficulty. There is free trailer and spectator parking with lunch and snacks offered at our Cook Shack between 11-1pm.

We offer 12 Daily High Point Awards at each show and ribbons to 5th Place. 2 out of 4 shows will qualify for Year End Awards if you are a member. The best 3 shows will be counted towards overall points. An age division must be chosen to represent your points throughout the season, regardless of membership status.

HOW TO ENTER
Membership is not required to show with us. We highly recommend pre-entering for each show via e-mail and bringing your payment to the office the morning of the show. Pre-entering by the Wednesday before the show gives you the benefit of discounted entry rates. Download the appropriate entry form using the buttons to the right, fill out the form, scan, and send your PDF to HHSC.EW@gmail.com. We will only accept scanned PDF's or word documents. You will receive a confirmation email and any instructions to make edits to your entry. Check in at the office the morning of the show. We will provide you with a class list, entry number, and pins if needed.

Check or cash is mandatory. We can't accept cards or online transactions at this time. If you have to cancel or edit your entry, please notify via email as soon as possible. Changes made after 5pm on the Friday before the show may not be reflected.

HOW TO QUALIFY
First and foremost, all riders must be members of the club to qualify for Year End Awards. You may sign up for membership at another show, but you must be responsible for making sure we get your check and forms. If you are a member, competed in at least 2 shows in the season, and completed your necessary 8 volunteer hours, we will email you to notify you that you have qualified. If you did not complete your 8 volunteer hours, but are eligible for awards, we will email you with a separate notification.

It is your responsibility to find events to complete your volunteer hours. Each member interested in qualifying will be given worker cards that will be kept in the office at all times. It is the members responsibility to get your card completed. At the end of season, qualifying members will be asked for a wishlist of varying prices over email. We ask that you include links, colors, and sizes so we can ensure you get the exact item you want. There will be one reminder email to send in your lists by the requested deadline. Prizes will be awarded at the banquet. If you are unable to attend, let us know as soon as possible or get another member to receive your items.

PINK SHOW
Every August we hold a performance show that earns proceeds through a special pink costume class and two walk-only classes. 100% of the proceeds earned from these classes are donated in honor of past division head Carol Kent. We honor her memory by hosting this Pink Show and raising awareness for breast cancer research.
